About Eos

Eos Therapeutic Riding Center was established in 1992 to provide therapeutic horseback riding activities for mentally, physically and emotionally challenge children and adults. Eos (pronounced EE-ose) is a shortened form of the word Eohippus, the first horse of evolution. Its name means new dawn or new beginning, an appropriate description of what therapeutic riding can help provide for many riders. The program began with seven riders and two loaned ponies. Eos has expanded to serve over 100 riders and veterans using 10 horses and ponies that are owned by the center. We run weekly sessions, from March through November consisting of over 3,000 riding sessions yearly.

The Center is located at Crystal Creek Acres, a twelve acre farm northwest of Bloomsburg, PA. Eos has an indoor riding arena, Kellen's Place, with waiting area and stable facilities, and a wooden trail. Both the trail and the arena contain many games and skills activities that are used in the course of a riding session.

Eos is a member of the Council for Education & Certificatoin in Therapeutic Horsemanship. We are a non-profit corporation registered with the Pennsylvania Department of State and the Pennsylvania Bureau of Charitable Organizations, Eos is also recognized as a tax exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.
